Growing in Faith Together

Children & Youth

Marysville First United Methodist Church helps children and young people grow in faith through Bible learning, prayer, music, service, fellowship and age-appropriate activities.

Sunday School Time & Location

Children begin worship together at 10:00 a.m.

Children begin Sunday morning in the church sanctuary with their families at 10:00 a.m. for congregational singing and Children’s Time. At about 10:15 a.m., they are dismissed for Christian education classes.

Class time includes sharing, prayer and age-appropriate activities focused on Bible stories and living a life that reflects God’s love.

Christian Education

Learning, participating and serving

Age-appropriate curriculum is used for each class or group. Children are encouraged to pray, take part in Bible readings and discussions, and participate in class projects with Christian themes and moral lessons.

Learning also includes service and fellowship. Classes occasionally host the social hour following worship, giving children and youth another way to take part in church life and learn the importance of serving others.

Learn

Bible stories, Christian values, prayer and discussion form the foundation of Christian education.

Participate

Music, projects, fellowship and special church activities give young people ways to take an active part.

Serve

Service projects help children and youth learn that faith also means caring for the church and for others.

Vacation Bible School

Faith, friendship and a lot of fun

Vacation Bible School has been part of children's ministry at Marysville First UMC, giving children a lively setting for Bible stories, crafts, music, games and time together.

During June, July and August, children also meet in a combined group for Summer Cinema, using SuperBook videos to learn Bible stories, along with a special Water Sunday for summer fun and fellowship.

VBS themes and schedules vary from year to year. Current dates and details will be posted with Church Events when they are announced.
