Miriam Circle

Miriam Circle met on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Pioneer Hall with 24 attending. Carol Schellenger opened the meeting with “Surely the Presence” and a prayer, followed by a Potluck lunch which included a wide array of delicious dishes.

After the wonderful potluck lunch, Carol read “Love Your Enemy” by Corrie ten Boom, a story from her life about finding the courage to forgive your enemy as God would want and moving forward. The scripture was from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

Carol introduced Anna, a representative from the Liv On Foundation, who spoke about the Foundation’s creation and role in the Yuba Sutter Community to help victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking. The organization was created after the tragic death of Liv Harrison, a young woman who was brutally murdered by her boyfriend. The Foundation’s goal is to help bridge the services gap in this area for people trying to get out of toxic relationships safely and finding services to help them move on with their lives. They educate local young people about the signs of abuse and healthy dating habits. Their symbol is the butterfly showing transformation from loss into something beautiful.

The next Miriam Circle will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Youth Room.

The speaker will be Randy Davis talking about his time in the Peace Corps and reading some of his writings.

We are meeting in the Youth Room as Randy has some pictures to share with us. All women are invited.
