Faith in Action

Missions & Outreach

Serving our neighbors has long been part of life at Marysville First UMC. Some needs are met through organized ministries and community partners; others are met quietly through the church office when someone simply needs a helping hand.

Sack Lunch Ministry

Sack lunches are available to participants every two weeks. Depending on available supplies, a lunch could include two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, a can of pork and beans or pasta, fruit, Pop-Tarts or granola bars, ramen soup, crackers or chips, bottled water and plastic spoons.

Personal-Care Items

When available, the church also gives out practical personal-care items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste and disposable razors. Unused travel-size soaps and shampoos and extra plastic eating utensils can be useful donations.

Christian Assistance Network (C.A.N.)

C.A.N. is an important community resource. Food, financial gifts and volunteers help support the office and Service Center, where food, diapers and clothing are distributed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Fill the Pots: This is an ongoing church effort. Donations of canned food may be brought to the C.A.N. table in Pioneer Hall.

How Our Church Helps

Marysville First UMC supports C.A.N. through service, gifts of food and money, and prayer. If you would like to help with current needs, please contact the church office.

Serving with Compassion

We ask God’s blessing on all who are united in this work and on those whom we serve. May our gifts to this work include patience, compassion, understanding, wisdom and charity, and may we serve with humility and gratitude.

There Is Always Room for Another Helping Hand

If you need assistance, would like to donate useful items, want to volunteer, or know someone who may need care, please contact the church office. Because needs and available supplies change, the office is the best source for current information.
