This Sunday our District Superintendent will be joining us for worship before he leads our Annual Church Conference after church. I hope you'll be able to attend both and celebrate our church year and ministries.
Now, thinking about church meetings, we all know some church meetings could have been emails. And some emails become meetings because nobody wants to make the decision!
Today we’ll be discussing reports, budgets, and plans. But first, let’s remember whose church this is and why we’re here.
Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12 that we are the body of Christ, with many parts and many gifts. If our church were a human body, the mouth would want more time to talk, the stomach would demand more potlucks, and the feet would be tapping if the meeting went long!
Seriously, God gives each of us different gifts for a common mission. We won’t always agree, but we can disagree with grace. Unity doesn’t mean we think alike; it means we serve the same Lord.
And really, we’re not here simply to only keep the church running. We’re here to share the love of Jesus.
So, let’s take care of the church’s business Sunday so we can get on with the business of being the church for the rest of the week.
