Last month our congregation was privileged and delighted to welcome Jeanette Schwyhart as a new member. We are blessed that Jeanette chose our church as her house of worship and it will be a pleasure to get better acquainted with this gracious lady.
The last week of summer has slipped on by and I hope everyone has enjoyed our sometimes hot, sometimes mild summer and are now ready for the excitement of October which starts with a bang. It’s Pot-Luck Sunday with all the delicious food that those words imply, then you will notice Pioneer Hall getting very quiet as we hold our breath in anticipation while the Opportunity Drawing tickets, after being shaken, stirred, mixed, rolled across the floor (ok, probably not that last one), are being carefully drawn and announced. What a great way to start the autumn season.
I recently read “Every day might not be good, BUT, there is good in every day”. A meaningful saying, and if we change just one word to say “there is God in every day” it becomes profound. With God we can see the most mundane, boring or stressful day as being a good day filled with opportunities for kindness and sharing our faith.
Embrace the season as it gives us a new energy, embrace your life, including all the ups and downs, and embrace our God with thankfulness for the promises He has given us.
